Happy Memorial day!

Happy memorial day every one especially to all the solders families who have fallen standing guard to protect our freedom, and to all the solders who past and present are still standing guard.
I thought this was an appropriate pictures to share.{stolen from my cousins FB page}
This is my grandpa Pete playing taps this morning with his VFW group at the Greybull WY cemetery.
My grand pa is a veteran of war world II.
{He's our own little bugle boy}
I love him very much and I am very proud to be his grand daughter.

We remember our little William every day but since this is memorial day the one day a year we stop and reflect on the loved ones that have returned to our Heavenly Father, I thought it was appropriate to share his picture.

We love and miss you and cant wait to be with you again.
I am so grateful I know that Family's can be together for ever.

Lemony blueberry trifle Yum!

Saturday night i was at the grocery store getting last minuet things for Sunday dinner, when this yummy recipes came to me.
I was thinking of making a blue berry trifle the traditional way when it occurred to me that lemon pudding would be more tasty than vanilla cream.
So I gave it a try and it was so super yummy.

Here is the recipe.
One batch of lemon pudding  , premade or home made. (I made mine from lemon pudding mix from jello)
2 containers of fresh blueberries or 1small package of frozen thawed.
one made white cake use a mix or use your favorite recipe. ( I used a mix)
1 8oz pkg of cream cheese
1TBS of vanilla
2 cups of chilled heavy whipping cream
3/4 a cup of sugar

First make your cake according to directions, then let it cool.
While cake is cooking make lemon pudding , when puddings done let it cool.
While cake and pudding is cooling make your cream cheese layer.
take room tempter cream cheese and put it in a mixing bowel start your mixer on low and slowly add vanilla , and sugar then add slowly the cream mix for about 3 mins.
Once the cake and pudding is cooled cut cake into 2 inch cubes.
Now it is time to assemble.
First layer will be cake
then lemon pudding
then blueberries
once you added a layer of every thing once do it one more time.
Then top it off with the cream cheese layer.
Chill for about an hour Then enjoy.
I hope this wasn't to confusing,
Enjoy.

A Saturday Hike!!

Today we decided to go and hike a mountain with the kids before diner.

We all started up the mountain together.

Then some of the kids went ahead of us.
I found Benny boy taking a potty break.

Found Maddy having a little fit.
We also saw a lone horse grazing on some grass.
Here is Dale and I on top of the mountain.

Shelly had hiked this mountain 2 days a go and wrote here name in the dirt.
Only part of it was left Roc( She wrote here proper name Rochelle)

My lissa decided to sunbathe while we all rested.

We then started our trek back down

I cant believe how dirty we all got especially Ben.

My feet were a close second.

We then drove home to grill hamburgers and hot dogs.

It was the best way to spend a saturday.

Boutique style picture frame tutorial

.
With a little bit of glue scrap book paper and odds and ends this wooden dollar frame turned out beautiful.
It took no time at all to make and I had every thing on hand.
Here is what you need.
white glue
a wooden frame
paint
Scrap book paper
bits of lace ribbon
a flower
really any thing you want to embellish it with.
First trace around the frame on the back side of the scrap book paper.
Then cut the tracing out.

Next lightly paint the frame.
It should dry in few minuets.

While the paint is drying mix up about a 1/4 of a cup of glue and 3 tbs of water

Now add the glue mixture to the frame.

Place the paper you cut out earlier onto the frame then smooth it out with something heavy.
Next lightly spread some more of the glue mixture on top of the paper.
let it dry about a half an hour.

Here where the fun comes in , I like to distress my frame with sand paper rubbing off some of the paper and making little tears to make it look old.
Then I rub on a little paint and water mixture.

I then added some lace and trim

And the finishing touch a boutique style flower
You can find the tutorial HERE. for the flower.
Now you have a fabulous frame to keep or give away.
{BTW the beautifull girl in the pictuer is my DD Shelly..}
